Autograph session, car exhibition and rich program! The Golden Apple comes alive with Barum rally

The 52nd edition of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín is less than a week to start. Motorsport fans can shorten their wait in Zlín, for example in the Golden Apple, which attracts visitors to a rich accompanying programme associated with the largest motorsport event in the Czech Republic. People can already admire the race specials on display in the shopping centre or visit the official fan shop, where tickets and souvenirs are available, for example. In the following days, they can also look forward to the Wednesday autograph session of the competing crews and another rich programme.

Since 7 August, a trio of competition car specials has been on display on the ground floor of the Golden Apple Shopping and Entertainment Centre in Zlín. Specifically, these are the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III, with which the legendary Tommi Mäkinen won the world championship title in 1996, the Škoda Fabia S2000, behind the wheel of which Juho Hänninen celebrated his continental championship victory in 2010, and the Renault Clio Rally5 of the nineteen-year-old driver Tomáš Večerka. These cars will be replaced by Karel Mack's Toyota Yaris from Sunday 13 August.

The highlight of the programme in the Golden Apple will be the traditional autograph session of the leading crews competing in this year's Barum rally. It will take place on Wednesday 16 August at 7:30 pm with the participation of almost thirty competing crews, including the complete Czech and European top teams and six female drivers. Fans will have the opportunity to meet, for example, the winners of the World Championships, New Zealander Haydon Paddon and Norwegian Mads Ostberg, ten-time winner of Barum rally and all the last seven years Jan Kopecký and local stars Erik Cais, Dominik Stříteský or Adam Březík. A day later, from 7 pm, there will be an autograph session of the crews of the fifteenth edition of Star Rally Historic.

At the same time, a number of competitions for valuable prizes, including a symbolic fifty-two season tickets to the Barum rally, are taking place in the premises of the Golden Apple and on its social networks. Interested visitors can also see an exhibition of photographs by Martin Straka and Petr Lusek from the Dakar Rally, who will be christening their new books and taking part in a talk and autograph session with fans on Friday 18 August at 1 pm. An attractive lure for lovers of the petrol smell will also be the show of one of the best Czech freestyle motocross riders, Libor Podmol, in the parking lot between the Zlín Department Store and the Old Market Hall, where the Dakar equipment of the Fesh Fesh team will also be on display.

After the end of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín, the winners will be announced at the Náměstí Míru square on Sunday 20 August, as usual, and the most successful crews will then be presented at the final press conference in the Golden Apple.
