Painting with the Barum rally at half time

14. 6. 2021 - Press Centre

This year, the organizers of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín have prepared the premiere edition of public creative competition for their fans. The challenge kicked off in the difficult Covid-19 times and activated lots of fans with artistic talent. In total 45 original paintings gradually arrived to the permanent secretariat of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín.

"We definitely did not expect such interest in the first year," said Jan Regner, the Deputy Clerk of the Course Barum Czech Rally Zlín, and continued: "We received works from fans not only from Zlín, but also from the rest of Moravia, and several came from the western part of the country. The support for the Barum is really great, including considerable fans' interest, which not only motivates us, but also commits us to continue in following year."

All paintings will now travel together as an exhibition, being the part of the additional program of the upcoming jubilee 50th Barum Czech Rally Zlín. Their first stop will be the 3rd floor of the Zlín Region municipality in Zlín, where they will be presented from 1 June 2021. Later the exhibition will move to the Zlín town hall and its last stop will be in the shopping and entertainment centre Golden Apple in Zlín. Organizers promise that fans will be informed about all these transfers via their social networks.

On 1 June 2021 the voting for the most popular painting will be launched as well. This will take place on the official Facebook profile of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín (www.facebook.com/czechrally), where the complete album of the finalists will be published. Everyone can choose their favourites and send them a like, heart or other emoticon. The final order of the painting and their authors will be given by the number of such interactions in this album. The evaluation committee consisting of Miloslav Regner, Martin Pášma and Daniel Šenkeřík decided to accept all the submitted paintings for the main competition.

In addition, all the paintings will help, because in the end there will be launched a public auction and all incomes from it will be used to help children cancer patients. At this point, negotiations are underway whether the auction will take place physically or electronically on one of public auction portals.
