Flash info in regrouping after special stage 12

18. 8. 2019 - Evžen Gargulák, Jakub Kudláč

After special stage 12 racing drivers went to the regrouping. Those who are happy to continue on Barum Czech Rally Zlín then told us their opinions on the results and the rally.

Simon Wagner (AUT, Škoda Fabia R5 Evo, No. 18):
"Today, I'm feeling much better than yesterday. It's not a hundred percent, but I feel I can push a bit more. Today our starting position is much better because yesterday we came on track after many cars. Now the stage looks like on recce."

Jaromír Tarabus (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, No. 19):
"Yesterday, it was less racing more time between stages. Today we are racing. We are trying to fight with Simon Wagner, but we are not able to keep up. Hopefully, we will finish the rally our pace wasn't the best."

Marijan Griebel (DEU, Škoda Fabia R5, No. 8):
"We are not going on the limit but as you can see this rally is so difficult with so many retiring cars. If you just get through, you can still achieve a very good result."

Tomáš Kostka (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5 Evo, No. 17):
"We are enjoying it. The car is prepared perfectly. Now on SS Pindula, we are waiting to get another time. We had to stop on the stage. It wouldn't be fair if we did not. Hopefully, it'll come back to us."

Filip Mareš (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, No. 5):
"The circumstances are making us go as fast as we can. We are fighting for the title. We are pushing very hard, but I'm a bit disappointed with SS Pindula where we had to stop after Gryazin's crash, and we lost some time. It is a very close battle."

Chris Ingram (GBR, Škoda Fabia R5, No. 3):
"The SS Pindula is very, very tricky. I'm glad that we are at the end of this loop and that we know where are our limits."

Jan Kopecký (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5 Evo, No. 4):
"It is a shame that the great fight from yesterday is over. SS Pindula is very difficult, and there is a lot of wet places. We want to continue at this pace."

Alexey Lukyanuk (RUS, Citroën C3 R5, No. 1):
"Actually I'm feeling very good. On the first stage of this loop, we've lost around twelve seconds. I think everybody is trying to stay safe. We don't risk too much. I'd like to keep Chris behind us at the end of the day."

Martin Březík (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5 Evo, No. 25):
"We had a puncture. It was my stupid mistake. It was a handbrake turn, I was too wide in the exit."

Vojtěch Štajf (CZE, Volkswagen Polo Gti R5, No. 16):
"It is all about one mistake. Pindula changed the standings dramatically, and we've gained four positions. We came around Březík who was stuck on the stage. We don't need to push, and we are looking on times of Pospíšilík. We wanted to put on harder tires, but it will not be good on Pindula. We will see."

Tomáš Pospíšilík (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, No. 23):
"We are here, the car is OK, and we made only one small mistake. We are in a good position just to be careful and finish the rally."

Patrik Rujbr (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, No. 60):
"It is very complicated for everyone. We need to watch Odložilík. In the morning it was up and down and a lot of retirements. We need to be safe."

Martin Vlček (CZE, Hyundai i20 R5, No. 21):
"Pindula shook up the field quite a lot. Kašava is very difficult, as well. The finish of the rally is on the finish ramp. And even the best ones make mistakes."

Mattias Adielsson (SWE, Ford Fiesta R5, No. 11):
"It is very difficult, to be honest. You always enjoy driving, but we can lose everything with just one small mistake. There is nobody close to us so we must be careful and just finish the rally. The stage times are terrible, but it doesn't matter because I would hate myself if I wouldn't finish it."

Ondřej Bisaha (CZE, Hyundai i20 R5, No. 61):
"I'm sorry for everybody who retired it's terrible. We are just making small adjustments on the car. We've put on some old tires because the result is not important for us. I'm just looking at the potential of the car."

Jan Jelínek (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, No. 62):
"Today, it is much better. We are here, and that is the most important thing today."

Dariusz Poloński (POL, Fiat 124 Abarth RGT, No. 30):
"After yesterday when we had a crash we've returned to fight. Pindula is a very difficult stage, and Kašava is tricky. Barum rally is so difficult, but I enjoy it very much."

Efrén Llarena (ESP, Peugeot 208 R2, No. 36):
"It is not so good for us. We have overheated the tires. We've lost two or three seconds. In the forest, it is very muddy. I'm trying to attack, and we will see."

Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (ITA, Ford Fiesta R2T, No. 42):
"It is good so far. This rally is very difficult we have to learn from every kilometer. I will update the setup and continue."

Sindre Furuseth (NOR, Peugeot 208 R2, No.37):
"We are in the fight. We've lost some time on Kašava. Everybody is going flat out. I'm not happy with our times, and we need to improve."

Erik Cais (CZE, Ford Fiesta R2T, No. 40):
"After Kašava I think we will have to change our underwear. The pace is swift. These guys are fighting for the titles. I have to say that every stage is on the limit. We are very close to any mistake, but I'm trying to be careful."
