Flash info after the end of Barum Rally

30. 8. 2015 - Petr Dujka, Jakub Kudláč

Driver's reactions after Leg 2 and the final runs on SS Semetín, Troják and Žlutava that closed the 45th Barum Czech Rally Zlín. The demanding stages and hot weather made Sunday's Leg 2 even more challenging and the drivers had to get the best out of them to prove their worthy of crossing the finish line of the traditional Barum Rally.

Antonín Tlusťák (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 15
"I was trying to speed up on SS Semetín because last year we had a wonderful time there. We had a puncture on SS Troják and I was trying to keep our position but that did not work out and we dropped to the 12th place."

Hermen Kobus (NLD, Škoda Fabia R5), starting no. 18
"I never hoped for this position. Before the rally we said we would be happy if we make the top ten because these stages are beautiful but rather impossible. They are super technical and difficult. I think our car, tyres and our team did a great. I have learned a lot and I am looking forward to the next Barum Rally."

Jan Černý (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 17
"I think it was great. We finished and that counts. The sixth place is simply icing on the cake. Huge thanks to our fans and team."

Miroslav Jakeš (CZE, Citroën DS3 R5), starting no. 20
"The last stages were fine, no mistakes, no punctures and good times. There was nowhere to go in the standings so we simply wanted to finish this story. The car worked but the overall result could have been better."

Pavel Valoušek (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 10
"I cannot remember when Barum Rally was so difficult. The top five is a dream come true. My co-driver Veronika did a wonderful job."

Alexey Lukyanuk (BLR, Ford Fiesta R5), starting no. 5
"It's absolutely perfect day for us. We started carefully and in the second run we increased the pace. The pace notes worked well and they gave us confidence to go almost flat out. I am happy."

Kajetan Kajetanowicz (POL, Ford Fiesta R5), starting no. 3
"It was a fantastic rally. I did not expect this. The local drivers know these roads very well therefore it is even harder for us. We wanted to win but the third place is great as well."

Václav Pech (CZE, Mini John Cooper Works S2000), starting no. 4
"It was a difficult rally. The second place is amazing. There was nothing I could do about it. On the last stage we were making sure that Kajto would not overtake us."

Jan Kopecký (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5), starting no. 1
"We won Barum Rally and the Czech title. What more do you want. Our team wonderfully prepared this car and it had our back."

Craig Breen (IRL, Peugeot 208 T16), starting no. 2
"It was quite a bad weekend, we got a puncture but we tried to do our best after that. We tried to push as much as we could."

Jan Jelínek (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 22
"The tenth position is fantastic. Everything worked out. It was a quite fast rally and the guys at the front were unbelievable."

Sepp Wiegand (DEU, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 11
"I am glad that after all the troubles we arrived in one piece. I would like to thank all my fans for their support. It has been a fantastic nerve-wrecking weekend here in the Czech Republic."

Emil Bergkvist (SWE, Opel Adam R2), starting no. 27
"It is finally over. Last weekend we did rally Deutschland so in the past two weeks we did a lot of hard work in hope that everything would work out. And it did. We are happy about this result."
