Flash info after seven Special Stages

29. 8. 2015 - Petr Dujka, Jakub Kudláč

In the afternoon the competing crews had to deal with hot weather, unpredictable surface and many of them were hit by unexpected technical problems. They shared their emotions and opinions about the last three stages before arriving to service zone Otrokovice.

Jan Kopecký (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5), starting no. 1
"We were enjoying it. There was no problem. We will try to increase our lead because Leg 2 is going to be very hard."

Alexey Lukyanuk (BLR, Ford Fiesta R5), starting no. 5
"Let's be realistic. The gap is too big and we do not want to take unnecessary risk. We have already got used to the hot weather and the stages are beautiful."

Václav Pech (CZE, Mini John Cooper Works S2000), starting no. 4
"It's OK."

Kajetan Kajetanowicz (POL, Ford Fiesta R5), starting no. 3
"I enjoyed SS Kudlovice but the surface on this rally is very unpredictable. It is fast and slippery. We had fire in the right rear because breaks were too hot. It was kind of funny."

Craig Breen (IRL, Peugeot 208 T16), starting no. 2
"Everything is OK."

Pavel Valoušek (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 10
"There are a lot of obstacles on the roads. So far we did not make any mistake and that is our plan for the next stages."

Hermen Kobus (NLD, Škoda Fabia R5), starting no. 18
"I think I have made some progress. Unfortunately, we have some power loss due to a malfunctioning pop up valve. I think SS Pindula was the nicest stage so far."

Antonín Tlusťák (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 15
"It was better. All the Special Stages went according to our plan, there was not any mistake nor puncture."

Charles Martin (FRA, Peugeot 208 T16), starting no. 14
"I really enjoyed Pindula. My only goal is to focus on my driving style. "

Miroslav Jakeš (CZE, Citroën DS3 R5), starting no. 20
"The first two stages were fine but Pindula was horrible. I hit the brakes too late, crashed into a retarder and when I was reversing the engine died. Five hundred meters on the tyres gave up and the engine died again. I lost about half a minute there."

Jan Jelínek (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 22
"I hit a curb in a turn but I got out without any damage. Otherwise, everything is working out. We do not have to deal with technical problems or major mistakes."

Jan Černý (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 17
"Our car is perfect. I am very glad with our performance on SS Slušovice and even though there are some details, it is still wonderful."

Sepp Wiegand (DEU, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 11
"We changed the setup, tyres and some other things. Despite this, it is still very difficult and we are trying to close the gap but the constant issues are slowing us down."

Emil Bergkvist (SWE, Opel Adam R2), starting no. 27
"The Special Stages are so cool. I mean there are so fast. You have those cuts and then the forests with tricky parts. We caught some time to Marijan and that is great. I feel good about the car's setup. I feel confident."
