Drivers‘ reactions after the Spectators‘ Super Special Stage

29. 8. 2015 - Evžen Gargulák, Karolína Lečbychová

Emil Bergkvist (SWE, Opel Adam R2), starting no. 27
"We were called off the track. The car in front of us had apparently some engine troubles and it stopped and the ambulance arrived. But I do not know what really happened."

Jan Jelínek (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 22
"It was not that bad. During the first round on the circuits we had to deal with cold tyres and it took some time to get to the right speed. Later it was better."

Petter Kristiansen (NOR, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 21
"The cars in front of us had some problems so we were forced to wait. Consequently, the tyres were cold and it was hard to adapt to this type of tarmac."

Miroslav Jakeš (CZE, Citroën DS3 R5), starting no. 20
"This stage was OK. The engine was a bit cold due to the yellow flag. Luckily, we have some experience from the last year and that taught us to be careful."

Martin Vlček (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 19
"We are happy with our performance despite the forced pause due to which the car got colder and we went the first round more carefully. But later it was good. There are a lot fans and photographers along the road."

Hermen Kobus (NLD, Škoda Fabia R5), starting no. 18
"I have never experienced such great atmosphere. Unfortunately, we had some issues with our car before the start. Moreover, we had to wait for half an hour, so everything went cold. I know we all have the same conditions but this stage went bad for me. I am not happy."

Jan Černý (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 17
"It was an aggressive stage. Maybe I tried too hard. And the atmosphere is wonderful just like any other year."

Raul Jeets (EST, Ford Fiesta R5), starting no. 16
"It was crazy. The first round was with cold tyres but other rounds were better. Fans are amazing."

Antonín Tlusťák (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 15
"The beginning was lukewarm. But more or less it was fine. We had cold tyres just like other drivers."

Charles Martin (FRA, Peugeot 208 T16), starting no. 14
"It was a difficult stage and I did one mistake. Otherwise, no complaints."

Roman Odložilík (CZE, Ford Fiesta R5), starting no. 12
"We picked hard tyres and they got colder. So it was literally a catastrophic first round for us. Fortunately, the last two rounds were a bit better."

Sepp Wiegand (DEU, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 11
"It was not good. We had problems with the engine so we let a car to pass us and then we hit a retarder. Our engine is damaged."

Pavel Valoušek (CZE, Škoda Fabia S2000), starting no. 10
"This stage was problem-free. We are happy."

Hermann Neubauer (AUT, Ford Fiesta S2000), starting no. 9
"The first round was without any issues and throughout the second and the third something was wrong with oil temperature and pressure. I felt a bit lost in the car but now we are at finish and that's great. The real rally starts tomorrow."

Tomáš Kostka (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5), starting no. 8
"The car's setting is good. This stage we did not hit any problems except the cold tyres which did not hold very well on the surface so we simply pass it."

Robert Consani (FRA, Citroën DS3 R5), starting no. 7
"Car's great, the driver is not."

Jaromír Tarabus (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5), starting no. 6
"It was good. The first round was a bit too cautious because of cold tyres and we lost some precious seconds. After shakedown I was more careful on the breaking points.

Alexey Lukyanuk (BLR, Ford Fiesta R5), starting no. 5
"We hit some technical problems with the communication inside our car so I was forced to drive by my memory."

Václav Pech (CZE, Mini John Cooper Works S2000), starting no. 4
"Everything was great except for the cold tyres. But I am satisfied with our performance."

Kajetan Kajetanowicz (POL, Ford Fiesta R5), starting no. 3
"It was good. We had much more fun than the last year and I felt more confident. The atmosphere here is always amazing."

Craig Breen (IRL, Peugeot 208 T16), starting no. 2
"It is incredible. There is wonderful atmosphere and people were cheering us. I am looking forward to tomorrow's special stages."

Jan Kopecký (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5), starting no. 1
"The road was a bit slippery. We picked the same hard tyres that we used for the Qualifying stage but on this night it was not a good choice. I am glad that the fans found the time and came because they were wonderful."
