On Friday afternoon Bata's skyscraper held the press conference of the 44th Barum Czech Rally Zlín 2014. This year's contest is a part of the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) and Mediasport Int. Czech Rally Championship 2014 (MMCR).

The first words were delivered by the Governor of the Zlín region MVDr. Stanislav Mišák: 'It is my honour to welcome you at the headquarters of the Zlín Region. Allow me to express my delight over the fact that you arrived to our region. I would like to wish you a happy stay in our region and hopefully you will find a way to visit us at any other time as well, not only during Barum Rally. I wish all the contestants to achieve the best possible results. There can be only one winner. However, the important thing is for everyone to come home safely. To the organizers I wish that everything works up to the broad motorsport public satisfaction. Finally I would like to assure you that this is not the last Barum Czech Rally Zlín but only one out of the many upcoming ones.'

The Mayor MUDr. Miroslav Adámek welcomed everyone on behalf of the city of Zlín. 'I am glad that once again we can hear engines roar in the city of Zlín. I myself am a rally fan. Barum Rally is a reliable partner and the city will always support this event. I wish everyone to come home safely and to enjoy three days of racing. A big thank you to the organizers,' said Adámek.

Few words were also spoken by Ing. Libor Láznička, Chairman of the Executive Board Continental Barum s.r.o., a long-term general sponsor. 'On behalf of our company I would like to welcome the contestants and the spectators. May everyone have a good time. Despite being only a Ph.D. I wish any injuries are avoided,' said Láznička with a smile on his face.
