The Zlín bikes spin again in the city

The Statutory City of Zlín, in cooperation with the organizers of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín, is organizing the third annual cycling race called Zlín bikes, which is intended mainly for the general public, not just for professional cyclists. The popular TOUR DE BARUM RALLY will take place on Friday, 16th August 2019 in the center of Zlín at 4:30 pm and follows the track of the popular Super Special Stage. More than five hundred cyclists of all age groups are expected to participate. The Zlín bikes is also the last opportunity for drivers to search for any tricks and deceptions of the night stage. Like any other participants, the drivers must complete the track by a bike or a scooter. There is also an entertaining program for children organized by Devět měsíců agency. "The Zlín bikes are not about your finish time, but about having fun, nonetheless anyone can win prizes! The three most original jerseys, the most original bike design, and the most numerous team. Anyone can participate with any bike including racing bicycles, scooters or velocipede. Participants can also use pedelecs, tandems or scooters," said the race director Martin Bill.

Who can participate? There are three categories: men, women, and children (youth) from 12 to 18 years. The race is for individuals and teams as well. You can register via the online form at www.zlinska-kola.cz. Before the race, it is necessary to present yourself personally from 12 to 3:30 pm in the Svoboda Park. In case of free capacity, it is possible to register directly during the presentation before the race. The race is for free, but the participants are required to wear a bicycle helmet during the race! The capacity is limited to 800 cyclists. "The background will again be located in the Svoboda Park near the Zlín Castle, where all participants will register and present themselves. There will be a fenced bicycle parking area where participants can put down and lock their bikes. In the background you can refresh yourself, there will be changing tents and toilets. In the park area, there will be various attractions for children so they can too enjoy themselves. Horsák Sport will bring and exhibit the latest e-bikes," said Martin Bill. In the park, there will be a stand of the Insurance Company of the Ministry of the Czech Republic, which is a partner of Zlín Bikes, with further entertainment for children. As part of the cooperation with KCK Cyklosport, the participants can check and adjust their bicycles.

Just like last year, the number of laps is not limited. However, the three-kilometer circuit must be free of cyclists by 5:15 pm and after 5 pm no futher laps will be allowed. The circuit passes mostly through the former area of Bata's factory and along the bus station area, start and finish are located on Bartošova Street. Altogether it is an undemanding circuit with an easy climb that even a child can handle.
