Drivers‘ views after SS12

The 47th Barum Czech Rally Zlín is almost finished but that doesn't mean there is no drama. We asked the drivers about their feelings on morning stages and their strategy for the last three special stages on Maják, Pindula and Košíky.

Pavel Valoušek (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 11)
'Today it's better than yesterday. We're faster and in a better rhythm.'

Martin Koči (SVK, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 14)
'These stages are so tough. Maybe I was too careful on Košíky but I'm trying to go faster.'

Kajetan Kajetanowicz (POL, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 1)
'Car is working and we're enjoying rally.'

Jan Černý (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 18)
'It's such a shame about our puncture on Pindula. We were so close to podium.'

Tomáš Kostka (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 16)
'Yesterday and today was like night and day. If only our car worked that well yesterday. There're lot of cuts and we did well.'

Roman Kresta (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 9)
'We had a crisis on Maják, I wasn't paying enough attention. And of course I'm going to fight for the podium, otherwise it wouldn't me.'

Marijan Griebel (DEU, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 6)
'It's great, we're going for victory in ERC Junior. We have a solid lead and now we want to bring it home.'

Alexey Lukyanuk (RUS, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 4)
'It was OK. I'm really tired after yesterday, so I can't push harder and we're taking it easy. Now it's all about bringing it home.'

Jan Kopecký (CZE, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 2)
'We don't feel under pressure. But we still need to be careful because these roads are so tricky.'

Nikolay Gryazin (LVA, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 19)
'We're doing well. Car is working. The roads are difficult so we aren't pushing.'

Bruno Magalhães (PRT, Škoda Fabia R5, Start. No. 3)
'We lost some time and I will try to make it up during the second loop. On the first look today's stages seemed easier but they aren't.'

Roman Odložilík (CZE, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 27)
'We keeping our pace and moving up because other drivers our out. Our aim is to get to the finish without any problems.'

Bryan Bouffier (FRA, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 5)
'It's different when everything works the way it's supposed to. I'm very happy with the last stage.'

Łukasz Habaj (POL, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 9)
'On Barum rally every stage is difficult. Car is working great and we're enjoying it today. Maybe there's a change to go up, but priority is to keep our position.'

Martin Vlček (CZE, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 24)
'We lost more than two minutes. Something is not right, maybe it's a half-shaft.'

Josh Moffett (IRL, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 12)
'It's harder today. There's gravel around the corners. On Pindula we had a big spin. It was crazy. In the afternoon we'll try to push a bit.'

'We have speed up because we had a puncture on the third stage.'

'First two stages weren't that good and we made it up on the third one. So far we're satisfied and want to reach finish.'

José Anténio Suárez (PRT, Peugeot 208 T16, Start. No. 17)
'Some sections were trickier than yesterday, I didn't expect it. We're not taking any risks today, we want to finish safe and sound.'

Miroslav Jakeš (CZE, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 53)
'Barum rally ended for us on Friday, there's nothing to fight for and I don't want to crash our car.'

Tomáš Kurka (CZE, Ford Fiesta R5, Start. No. 57)
'We had a slow start and now we're going on. It is fun and we learned a lot already.'

Martin Březík (CZE, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, Start. No. 59)
'Everything works including us and the car. Spectators are amazing and we profit from other drivers' mistakes.'

'We're enjoying rally and we don't have to deal with many problems.'
