Statistics of the participating crews

24. 8. 2015 - Roman Ordelt

The organizers of Barum Czech Rally Zlín has recently released the list of participating crews for this year's 45th Barum rally. This year the start list is quite large with 143 participating crews. It is one of the most prestigious events of FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) and of Czech Rally Championship (MČR) as well.

There are 50 foreign crews from 26 countries including the rather interesting crews from Taiwan and Japan. Zlín expects two drivers with FIA priority (Jan Kopecký from the Czech Republic and Craig Breen from Ireland) and an astonishing number of 43 drivers which have ERC priority. Out of the latter 20 crews have ERC1 priority, 4 drivers own ERC2 priority and 19 drivers have ERC3 priority including 14 drivers competing in Junior Rally Championship. Due to the regulations of European Championship there are 90 competing crews and the rest is part of Czech Championship.

Unsurprisingly, the manufacturer Škoda has the highest number of the participating cars, specifically 32. The start list contains 12 vehicles of R5 category and 11 vehicles of Super 2000 category. Within Czech Championship there will be 5 cars with WRC specification. In addition, the start list is jazzed up by 6 women behind the wheel and another 17 crews are male-female. It is no surprise that aside from professional drivers also some celebrities want to test their driving abilities. Among them are a musician and composer Daniel Landa, the actors David Suchařípa and Lukáš Langmajer or the actress and female singer Olga Lounová.
